About Us
Kendra Redd-Hernandez purchased Back-En-Thyme 2002 from Becky Enochs. The shop was located at the Corner of Court & Main in downtown Washington C.H. In 2023, Kendra chose to leave the big beautiful brick building and purchase a small farm on the outskirts of town. Boy, what an undertaking!
She could see the potential....gorgeous views of Midland Acres, a horse farm that has long been a part of Fayette County history. The small farm is surrounded by breath taking views. It was like the land, the house and the barns were calling out to us...make us beautiful again!
The renovation began in January 2024 and ended in November 2024. Five dumpsters of trash, four barrels of oil and over 100 tires were removed from the property. The barns were repaired. The house was gutted to the studs and that's when we found the beauty. Gorgeous hand hewn beams were throughout the house and are now exposed for all to see. What a transformation! You may share in our journey through numerous pictures and videos at www.facebook.com/backenthyme.
We have big plans for the property. We currently have 4 goats, a rooster and a minature donkey who love company. We plan on planting flowers which can be used to enhance our everyday summer vases, And did we mention, events on the patio.
The shop name evokes a time when customers were friends and service was a priority. Kendra and her team strive to provide that good old-fashion customer service interlaced with quality, freshness and and an opportunity to breath.
Come experience a building with 1850 architectural history, an atmosphere of country beauty and an opportunity to relax with a glass of wine and be inspired. When ordinary just won’t do….Back-En-Thyme will create it especially for you.
